What Is Hook And Loop Tape?
Hook and Loop fasteners, also called Velcro, are two-part fasteners that stick together when pressed. You must press the two different sides together to fasten them.
The hook side is rough and scratchy. The loop side is the soft, fluffy side. When pressed together, the little hooks on the hook tape engage with the loops on the loop tape to create a strong bond. A major benefit of using VELCRO® strips is that you can easily pull them apart whenever you need to.
We sell rolls of hook OR loop so that you can select the type of tape you require. If you are starting from scratch, you will need to purchase a roll of loop, and a roll of hook separately. The tape rolls are 25 metres long and 25mm wide (1 inch).
What Can I Use Hook And Loop Velcro Strips For?
Hook and loop tape, or Velcro strips, are popular in many industries, including retail stores, exhibition displays, and schools. Use the tape to display POS posters, hang pictures, calendars, or small electrical items like remotes. You can also use hook and loop tape at home to hang personal belongings or tidy multiple cables.
How Do You Use Hook And Loop Velcro Strips?
- Cut a strip of hook tape, and a strip of loop tape to the length you require.
- Use a mild surface cleaner to wipe the item, and the surface you are attaching the Velcro strips to. (The adhesive won’t stick well to dusty surfaces). Make sure the the surface is completely dry before attaching a strip.
- Peel off the adhesive backing of one strip. Be careful not to touch the adhesive as it might not adhere well. Attach it to your item or surface. Press the strip down firmly.
- Repeat this step to attach the second strip to your other item or surface.
- For full strength, leave the Velcro strips to adhere for 24 hours before sticking them together.
Adhesive Velcro strips won’t stick as well if you peel them off and try reusing them.
