Unlike a till draw, it cannot be picked up and stolen as it is firmly bolted under the counter. In addition, it is a discreet way to have money stored. These are frequently used to store cash once money over a certain level has been taken. Usually, once there is over £200 in cash in the till, some of the cash is removed and placed into this safe, leaving only the till float amount.
In addition to keeping the money in your store secure, this is also a good measure to take for staff safety. It cannot be opened without the keys and is discreetly hidden under the counter out of the way of a customer’s view.
How To Use Your Shop Till Money Safe
To operate the shop till money safe, simply place the cash into the slot and push then handle down. This springs the cash into the back of the safe where it is totally inaccessible unless you have a set of keys.
There is one set of keys to remove the safe from the under counter plate. This allows you to slide the safe out from under the counter. The money inside the shop safe is still not accessible at this point. As a result, the cash can be transported safely.
There is then a second set of keys which are used to unlock the back casing. This casing then slides out of the unit and the cash can be safely removed.
